I have read several articles, listened distinguished guests presentations, many forums about the state of Tanzania under the existing constitution and have had a strong opinion that all in all our country needs a new constitution. I have attached an article published today by the Guardian news paper and as posted on Ipp Media online namely " The changing faces of Tanzania's constitution" I urge you to read it and you will agree with me that not a patch to an existing one but a whole new costitution is comparisory for our nation. Let us encourage the Tanzania society to read the current constitution to understand the necessity of constructing a new one.

In the wake of a well constructed, new constitution for Tanzania, true democracy shall reign. A constitution that is constructed from scratch by an independent body of representatives from every reknown or rather recognized groups from our society and without the existing government interference shall be the key to a true democracy.

We need genuine separation of power among the three pillars of governance. A true government of the people, for the people and by the people is the one that respects its boundaries likewise for the judiaciary and the parliament. This is contrary to the existing situation in the country. I believe with the new constitution so many aspects that deprive the citizens proper leadership and expected elected and nonelected leaders' sacrify on behalf of the nation will be instilled.

I ran for member of parliament in the last years general election through CHADEMA, Kinondoni constituency in faith that change to our nation was and is paramount. Change that will halt some of the unjustly practices that favor a few class of people in power at the expense of poor Tanzanians. My belief now is, had we debated and constructed a new constitution first and then general election followed last year, the outcome of the election would be totally different today.

I also believe it is not too late to achive that goal. I congratulate everyone who is putting his/her thoughts, energy, time and whatever resources to ensure that we have a new constitution before 2015. I am willing to play my part to educate our fellow citizens in and outside the country in regards to the importance of a new constitution. I urge you guys each one of us, at our own capacity to be part of this necessary and important change. Yes, we can bring a brighter future to ourselve and to our children peacefully.

I thank you for taking time to read my opinions. Your view will enlighten my thoughts no matter how big or small may be. I humbly present.
